Paul Garity, Partner, founded Capstan Advisors in 2007 along with John Davis and Kent Wiegel, to assist major corporations in improving the management of their real estate assets. Mr. Garity is also President of Real Estate Consulting Solutions, Inc. (RECS), a firm he founded in 2001 to provide strategic consulting, investment analytics and litigation support services to real estate owners, developers and lenders. Prior to launching RECS, he spent 22 years at KPMG, where he was the National Practice Partner-in-Charge for Corporate Real Estate Consulting.
Mr. Garity has assisted corporate clients in organizational design, sourcing strategy, outsourcing, process improvement and information systems in the U.S., Europe and Asia. He has a broad background in real estate and finance, and managed over 500 consulting assignments including portfolio strategy, valuations, feasibility studies, transaction due diligence, loan sales, workouts and litigation support. He has been a speaker at CoreNet and BOMA conferences and passed both the California CPA and American Society of Appraisers exams.
Mr. Garity has an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College. He serves on the board of directors of Lodgian, a publicly traded hotel company, and 211 Los Angeles, a not for profit information and referral agency for the underserved in Los Angeles County.
John Davis
John Davis, Partner and co-founder, joined Capstan from CB Richard Ellis, where he served as Executive Managing Director of the Global Corporate Services Group for 12 years. While at CBRE, he negotiated over 200 million square feet of global outsourcing contracts and managed over 1,000 professionals involved in the fulfillment of transaction, project and facilities management contracts.
Mr. Davis has over 30 years of experience in corporate real estate, as Vice President of California Real Estate at the Bank of America, and one of the creators of the corporate outsourcing business at the Koll Company. He is a founding Board Member of CoreNet Global, a former Chairman of the Board at NACORE, a former President of the Institute for Corporate Real Estate, and a licensed architect.
Mr. Davis holds an MBA degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. He currently serves on the Planning Commission in San Dimas, California.
Kent Wiegel
Kent Wiegel, Partner and co-founder, joined Capstan following over 20 years at Washington Mutual Bank, where he was Senior Vice President in Charge of Corporate Properties. At WaMu, Mr. Wiegel was responsible for managing over 250 real estate professionals and 3,000 properties with 25 million square feet of space. In 2006-2007, he managed the construction of the new WaMu headquarters building in Seattle, which included an innovative workplace design program linking workspace to the bank’s brand and culture.
Mr. Wiegel is a licensed CPA and holds an MBA from the University of Washington.
Sherri Parman
Sherri Parman joined Capstan after five years at CoreNet Global as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Membership Officer. Ms. Parman was responsible for integrating the IDRC and NACORE operations and finance functions into CoreNet. Previously, Ms. Parman spent 23 years in real estate finance and development, both as a Chief Financial Officer and a strategic planning consultant. For both Jones Lang LaSalle and CB Richard Ellis, she helped launch consulting practices in the Southeast to support corporate real estate clients with portfolio analysis and site selection.
Ms. Parman has an Executive MBA from UCLA in International Management and Finance.
